Max Verstappen has taken his second victory of the 2025 season at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari of Imola. The Dutchman is now closer than ever to Piastri in the Drivers’ Championship.
His performance was absolutely outstanding, but what about the other Formula 1 protagonists? Let’s go through them in our Driver Ratings!
Emilia-Romagna GP Driver Ratings
Verstappen 10: Flawless drive from the Red Bull driver, with a start that we will rarely witness again.
Norris 8: Recovers from a difficult qualifying by managing his tyres better than the others and capitalising on the Safety Car.
Piastri 7.5: Messed up the start and the strategy, along with his side of the McLaren garage.
Hamilton 7: A great Sunday drive is not enough to forget about the terrible Saturday, but it was still great to see him race in Italy dressed in Red for the first time.
Albon 10: Best of the rest once again. What a season he is having.
Leclerc 7.5: Was faster than Hamilton all the way through the weekend. Got very unlucky with the VSC and SC.
Russell 6.5: His qualifying pace just disappeared on Sunday. Damage limitation.
Sainz 7: He finished behind Albon, after starting ahead of him, for the second time in a row. But this time it was not only his fault.
Hadjar 7: Good points in VCARB’s home race. One of the few to stay out a long time on mediums, and it definitely paid off.
Tsunoda 6: Great recovery after starting last because of a big crash in qualifying. Managed to bring a point home once again.
Alonso 6.5: Same as Leclerc really. Has Aston Martin really taken a big step forward? We hope to see more of that in the next few races.
Hulkenberg 6: Another quite weekend, because of his very underperforming Sauber.
Gasly 6: Same as Hulkenberg. The only difference is the car’s name, from Sauber to Alpine.
Lawson 5: Once again very far from Hadjar. If he keeps going down this road, his F1 career could end soon…
Stroll 5: Never got close enough to Alonso, then just fell off in the race because of strategy.
Colapinto 4.5: Not the greatest debut weekend for Alpine. He still has a lot to prove.
Bearman 6.5: Got really screwed over by the FIA in qualifying, when he set a good enough time for Q2 before the red flag.
Bortoleto 5.5: Just a mid weekend from the Brazilian rookie, considering his crash in FP as well.
Antonelli 5.: Felt the pressure of his first home race all on his shoulder. He’ll learn from this weekend and come back stronger.
Ocon 6: Nothing too special, even before his retirement.
Formula 1 will be back in a few days at Monaco, for the eight race of the year. Can Max Verstappen repeat himself?
